Business Development Manager – Defence - (Land & Cyber)

Company

International provider of land and cyber defence capabilities, for multiple domains providing solutions for EW, C4i, Radar, Optronics, Sensors and Communication systems for a variety of platforms and facilities for Defence and Federal Government.

Role

The role is responsible for managing sales and marketing across the business and interfacing with Line of Business, Divisions and other subsidiaries within the business as appropriate. Furthermore, the role will aim to build strong and intimate relationships with both existing and new customers. The role will be responsible for managing the Land and Cyber Security Domains in both the Defence and Civil sectors in order to identify new opportunities and prospects.

Duties:

  • Contribute to the development of strategic sales and marketing objectives.
  • Lead a major tender response development through until submission
  • Detail, design, and implement initiatives and action plans within the strategic objective framework.
  • Oversees sales and marketing opportunities in the Land and Cyber & Security Domains.
  • Undertake Business Development activities to identify, prosecute and report opportunities to the Commercial and Business Development (C&BD) function
  • Develop responses to requests for information (RFI) and general client enquiries.
  • Leads responses to Requests for Tender (RFT) / Requests for Quote (RFQ) and general customer inquiries
  • Creating and owning offer documentation and transmitting to customers.
  • Engage in the contract/deal negotiation process.
  • Maintaining a prospect database to identify new opportunities and to create a funnel
  • Participating in major project, sales and business reviews
  • Representing the company at customer, supplier and trade association meetings to promote the company and product portfolio

Person

  • Min 5 years previous experience in Sales and Marketing in Aerospace and Defence or Civil Electronics, Cyber and Security.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to interface within complex international organization.
  • Ability to create networks and influence stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Ability to both address strategic and operational commercial issues.
  • Ability to quickly determine customer needs and apply creative solutions.
  • Experience in working with Electronic systems including C4ISR, Radars & Sensors, Optronics, Communications, Electronic Warfare,
  • Excellent knowledge of military systems and capability.
